Foundations Laid For New Cayan Business Centre At TECOM, Cayan Contract Won By Test Contracting
The first foundations were laid for the Cayan Business Centre (CBC) at TECOM this week following the completion of piling. Test Contracting has been awarded the contract for the building.
The 12-storey office building has an external steel structure so it is expected to rise quickly once the foundations are finished. It is due for completion at the end of December this year. When completed, the building will have 154,000 sq ft, with individual office sizes range from 1700 sq feet up to 12,000 sq ft. It will have four floors of underground parking, retail space and an impressive atrium, with a stylish water feature that will give the feeling of space and allow a lot of sunlight through.
Being a freehold building in a free zone, the Cayan Business Centre sold quickly, with 80 per cent in the first month after launch and the remaining offices within six months, said Kareem Derbas, CEO of Cayan Investment and Development.
The keen buyer interest is also attributed to its strategic location close to Sheikh Zayed Rd, opposite business hubs such as Internet and Media City and the new residential areas such as Emirates Hills and the Dubai Marina.
Test Contracting is one of the most experienced contracting firms in the region with its head office in Dubai and regional offices in KSA, Qatar, Jordan and Egypt. It won the CBC contract with a bid of AED50 million.
The project is being supervised by a German consultancy firm, Schulster & Pechold. The Cayan Business Centre is one of four projects currently underway in Dubai for Cayan, with the award-winning Infinity Tower, DorraBay and The Jewels residential towers being the other three. Cayan s first project in Dubai, La Residencia Del Mar has been completed & fully occupied. Cayan recently launched the first high rise development in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Lamar is a luxurious twin residential tower project that also includes an upmarket shopping mall and offices.
